DescriptionAccommodation comprises self-catering chalets and rondavels and self-catering cottages/houses. Each 4-bed chalet or rondavel has it’s own bathroom, kitchen and braai facilities, some with a television. The DSTV chalets with two separate bedrooms, even have a microwave oven. (Please bring your own smart card) Our 6-bed rondavels, also with DSTV offer comfortable accommodation to bigger families, comprising a bedroom with a double bed and a separate loft sleeping 4 children. The Fish Eagle's Nest, a beautiful rustic 6-bed cottage with solid rock walls and a thatch roof, comprises a bedroom with a double bed and a separate loft with 4 single beds, a bath and shower, and is nestled on the banks of the Wynassie dam. The Nyala Guest House sleeps 8 people and comprises 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. Accommodation: Tent chalets: Our tent chalets consist of 4-bed; 5-bed and 6-bed permanent tents under thatch roofs. Each tent chalet has a kitchenette and its own bathroom with hot water shower, basin and toilet. Each tent chalet also boasts braai facilities and an undercover patio area.The tent chalet area has its own swimming pool and entertainment lapa with big screen TV, pool table, bar and kiosk. Chalets: Die Oog offers standard chalets, deluxe chalets and exclusive units. The standard chalets offer 4 beds in a rondavel style with a kitchenette and separate bathroom. Each unit is fitted with a fridge, 2-plate stove and microwave oven. Cooking utensils are provided as well as crockery and cutlery. Beds and linen are provided but no towels, dishcloths or swimming towels. Different types of braai facilities are available at the units. The deluxe chalets offer the same but also with DSTV. Bring your own DSTV smart card. The exclusive units offer bigger space with more rooms and also include DSTV (Bring your own DSTV smart card). The bathrooms have showers and the units offer bigger living space than at the other chalets. Service: All accommodation units’ daily service includes the cleaning of bathrooms and floors. Arrival time: Guests may book in at 14:00 on day of arrival. - Departure time: Units should be vacated at 10:00 on day of departure. Out-of-season weekend guests are allowed to enjoy the rest of Sunday and remain at the resort until 16:00, after the units have been vacated at 10:00. Late check outs may be arranged with Reception if there is no incoming booking directly after your departure.

Facilities Die Oog offers a wide variety of assorted facilities to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. In addition to the self-catering facilities, visitors can enjoy a night out relishing in fine food at our licensed restaurant. There is a take-away as well as a shop located on the premises to fulfil any other requirements our visitors might have. An ATM is also available on the premises. Conference facilities: Conferences can be offered in the lapa at the tent chalet area or in the Olienhout hall at the main complex. Tables, chairs, table cloths, water and peppermints on the tables are included in the tariffs. An digital data projector with a screen, TV with video machine, DVD player, flipchart and overhead projector is available for use by conference groups. Catering is available, as well as tea & cofee with snacks at breaktimes. A sumptuous braai or potjiekos is offered at the lapa in the tent camp for dinner. Recreational facilities: At die Oog there certainly is no reason to be bored, because the resort offers a treasure trove of activities and recreational facilities to keep everyone in the family entertained for days on end. Attractions Nature reserve: While you are out in nature, go on a game drive in our game viewing vehicle. Our guide will take you on a trip through the reserve that guarantees you excellent sighting of our variety of game species. You should be able to see some of the following: Giraffe, Kudu, Blue Wildebeest, Zebra, Impala, Duiker, Klipspringer, Blesbuck, Reedbuck, Bushbuck and Nyala. There are a number of smaller species for the connoisseur to enjoy, while the bird viewers will also not be disappointed. For those interested in the Flora more than the Fauna, a plethora of Bushveld trees, shrubs and veld flowers await. A game drive takes approximately 1 and a half hours with a halfway stop on the mountain where we will serve you cold drinks while you enjoy the spectacular views. Minimum of 4 people on a game drive and maximum 10. R160 per adult, R80 per child (7-12 years) and R20 per child (3-6 years). Book for all of these activities at Reception. Please note that no private vehicles will be allowed in the Nature reserve. Hiking trails: Called Africa’s Eden, The Limpopo Province reflects the essence of untamed Africa – from vast expanses of mountains to true South African Bushveld. It is a land of contrasts characterised by hot savannah plains and mist-clad mountains interspersed with indigenous forests and modern-day towns and facilities. Nestled within this tranquility you find Die Oog holiday resort, that boasts the superb nature reserve Serolo. It is here that guests at Die Oog can experience nature and wildlife first-hand by taking hikes through the nature reserve witnessing the best that Limpopo has to offer in terms of both fauna and flora. Die Oog has three unguided and very scenic hiking trails, comprising a one hour, two hour and four hour trail, on which guests can experience the true beauty and essence of the Bushveld. Hides from where game and birdlife can be viewed are to be found along the way. § Nyala trail: 2.6 km (approx. 1 hour) § Bee trail: 4.5 km (approx 2.5 hours) § Leopard trail: 6.5 km (approx 4.5 hours) The hiking trails are FREE of charge, however you will need a remote control device to open the electronic gate. You get it at Reception and pay a R200 refundable deposit. To make your hike even more enjoyable, book your picnic basket with snacks and picnic blanket at Reception. We will pack a lovely basket with a variety of snacks for R75 per person.

- 2/5 - Disappointed with service in general. Chalets not serviced at all unless you pay R40 for a 2 hour session. Linnen not changed for the whole 8 days. No toaster or salad spoons in chalet. No ice over christmas, no chicken mayo.
Bad attitude of people ar reception, not willing to help or make new bookings. Requested a rondavel for my son and also suggested some that were emty. I was told that none were available. After begging the lady checked her computor and found one available, very bad indeed. Will not visit again.
